That's why I don' t like spoilers.

I was totally deceived !! After I watch this kind
of movie, I always feel I'm so lucky to watch
the movie all the way through.

You can enjoy 'being deceived' by this movie.
I think not so many people could guess this trick.

These days, I like to watch violence movies.I don't know that reason, but once I used tolike to watch gangster movies for a while.Maybe these is no reason for that.
This movie won the prize for best film in the International Film Festival in Cannne.Actually I didn't know this fact before.I should check Canne's best film for each year once I knew this great film won the prize....
Director,actors, and pictures or techniques don't make great movie.
That is a script.Maybe all Hollywood film makers always look for good script.This movie is origially based on the Japanese famous comic.(Even though it's said that 'famous',it means famous for comic fans, not for every one.So unfortunatelly, I didn't know this comic..)The story attracts people all the time, becaus ethe theme, 'the feeling of revenge' is the thing we always have by nature.I totally sympathize with the main character( OH Dae-su).

Natural Born Killers(1994)

This movie remids me of the importance of
thinking about violence. As long as I remember,
I have never resorted to violence. Not only because
violence is not the best way to do something but also
I don't have enough ability to resort to violence.

Even though I'm not violent person, I really enjoyed this movie.
To a greater or lesser extent, violence attracts people.
Maybe bacause violence sometimes can be a symbol of
strength and it's difficult to find a borderline between
to be strong and to be violent.

As the director told us at the interview, this movie doesn't
encourage viewers to be violent. He wants us to think about
violence around us.

What's up Doc?

What's up Doc?(1972)
Directed by Peter Bogdanovich

As I became a fan of Peter Bogdanovich & Ryan O'Neal
in 'Paper Moon', I watched this.
If you expect this as same quality as 'Paper Moon',
I don't recommend this to you.
Because this movie is a just slapstick comedy,
on the other hand 'Paper Moon' describes spiritual exchange
of leading characters.

As for me this movie was not only fun, but also meaningful
because it was first time for me to see Barbra Streisand's video picture.
There are some famous people who I do know them
by name, but have never seen them.
She was that kind of actress for me.
Actually I didn't pay attention to the credit at first,
I noticed the main character was her after watching this.
She has nice figure and beautiful voice.
I guess she is sociable with everybody in private,too.
It is no wonder that she became popular and famous.

MASH stands for 'Mobile Army Srugical Hospital'.

This movie reminded me of 'ER'.
The difference is the doctors in this movie have to
suffer from horror of war and play a practical joke
on the clleagues.
I'm really sorry for 'HotLips'.

I learned a very important thing from this movie.
That's the fact that we can't forget to laugh, even in the face of the horror of war.
Maybe we can't be alive without laugh.

If you laugh at something, today could be good for you.

This is a documentary film which describe
the big match between Muhammad Ali and
Champion, George Foreman.

Ali says, 'I want to have this match for my
brothers. They don't have any hope for
tomorrow, and any chance to get education
to get out of their present life. I want to cheer them up
as a brother.'

Some brothers believe that Ali is an incarnation of God.
I'm not sure about that, but I think it's possible.
It's safe to say that he is a selected man from God.

Paper Moon

Directed by Peter Bogdanovich

This movie's highlight is Ryan & Tatum O'Neals' performance.
I'm so impressed by that, especially Tatum O'Neal's.
Once you see her in the movie, you know she's smart.
(Maybe smarter than his father , I'm not sure...)
Story is simple and classic.

A man by chance becomes acquainted with a girl, whose mother is
his friend and dead.They make a trip doing fraudulent business
together after an unexpected turn of events.

They do some kind of business in this movie, I believe
some bad people must have tried some of them in somewhere.
One of my favorite is to sell the bible to a dead person's
family. For the brave readers, I'll introduce this sales below.

(1)You check obituary column in the paper.
Survivor of the defunct is necessary.
You check the name of the most important person
for the dead person.
(2) You prepare one bible and stamp the name of which
you've already checked at the step one.
(3) You visit their house and sell the bible at a price.
*If they seem to be poor, don't take money from them,
give the bible to them.

A suprising ending was one of presents for
movie fans. That's why they don't like spoilers.

There are some types of suprising ending.
For example,everything was a just dream,
the main character has a Jekyll and Hide personality,
the main character dies in an accident and so on.

'Fight Club' s ending makes you suprise as well. You may guess
the 'suprise' by any chance.Even though, you know the ending
in middle of this movie, I assure you can enjoy this until the
end of it. Because this movie's theme is not only to make people suprise.
but also to express the danger of one person's strong wish in the modern
society.

Two old sisters' very beautiful story.
Even though they live alone, they never
forget their every day, and they don't complain
their life.
Not so suprising things happen to them,
but their every day is really existing there.

I'm only child, so I don't think I could do the
same thing as them, but at least thought
I need to find ths closest frinds to live peacefully
for my old age.

Pu Yi is the last emperor of China.
When he was three years old,
he became the last emperor of China.
Since then no one can rebel against him in
the Forbidden City, until the army forced
him to leave there.
Because of him Emperor's blood, he couln't have any kind of
freedom.It is safe to say that he was a sport of fortune.

I don't think this movie is totally based on the truth of his life,
but at least I know how was it as a whole.
I have to say as a Japanese, some parts of this movie introduces
biased interpretation, maybe because this couldn't be made
without Chinese help.
As long as you know this, I can recommend this to you as a
very good text of the last emperor.

Murder in the First

Murder in the First(1995)

The pen is mightier than the sword.
I believe that screen image is powerful
weapon as tool which let us know the truth.

Some people claim that this movie isn't
based on the historical 'real' story about Alcatraz.
As for me, it's not so important, because as long as the movie is
not documentary film, I know I have to keep in mind this is
made by someone. In this sense, this movie could be a 'fiction'.
I was just so impressed by this human drama between two people.
Even though cruel abuse didn't happen in Alcatraz, spiritual exchange
between two people could exist in everywhere.

I've been a real movie fan, since I watched this in my high school day.

I like to have brighter picture about the future.
In this sense, Back to the future II' suits my taste.
Anybody hope tomorrow will be better than today
and ,if it's possible, don't want to think about
dark future.
Although this movie was made about 30 years ago, I was so suprised
the image about the future is really accurate. For example, the fear of
terrorism, controlled society, large database of personal information
and so on. I realized we sould sometimes think about the future
in negative way.

This is one of the Akira Kurosawa's film.
I haven't watched any of his film before.
Now I know we shoud be proud of a movie maker
like him as a Japanese.

This is perfect movie for me, every aspect
(actors, script, pictures) are great, above all,
this film let us know that lifetime is really prescious,
so we should try to do our best througout the life.
I should've watched this in high school days....
If I did, maybe, I haven't wasted so much time since then.
But I still happy because I could watch this at least in my 20's.
I can recommend this to anyone and anytime.

They dance, sing and show magics on the
counter.

This movie is based on this world's tragedy.
This means a lot especially to us, the Japanese.
Because we really like to buy images,
and we are very weak against corporation.
We don't have so much action against strong
institution like corporation, because we unconsciouslly
are afraid of such a socila power.

I've heard that the 30 % of whole brand-items
are in Japan....
It's famous fact that the foreign people are very
suprise when they visit Japan, because there are
so much brand items.

Even though you don' t watch this movie,
you can easilly imagine that some people are
victimized by the prosperity in depeloped countries.
But I have to recommend anybody to watch this,
because you can't realize what's going on in this world
if you have proper opportunity like that.

I finally could come to the alphabet "Z".
Please forget about "X" and "Y".

This is Woddy Allen's very interesting movie.
It's filled with laugh and irony.
In terms of picture, it's also amazing.
You'll find movie's miracle in this.
Unfortunatelly, it must be difficult for you to find this at rental
Video shop. Actually I watched this in public library.
(Sometimes they have really "rare" videos and disks.)
By the way, Japanese title is "Camereon man".

If you have a chance, please check it out.

I selected because it's very very difficult for me to

- This question always could be controversy.
In my opinion, as long as all imformation is
formed by someone whose name is "mass
media", it's safe to say that we can be deceived
by them. Eventually, no one can tell which is the truth, it's the same
thing nobody knows about the other couples' relationships.

Even though I know the fact there is always "control" thing in mass media world,

This is the Soffia Coppola's first director's film.
She also wrote this beautiful script.
I haven't read original novel but she succeeded
to express original beauty with picture.

Kirstin Dunst's act is also amazing.

As you may know from the title, this is not "funny" movie.
I don't think this could be good text for the suicide's discussion.
I hope that people feel this poetic world.

Anybody has at least one or two favorite movie which never
been fed up with watching it.
As for me this is the one.
The story is very simple, we can even say the main role is
fansy car go very fast.
I also like Taxi and Taxi3, but Taxi2 is very special because it includes some
"Japanese " things. I really like to find "Japanese" things in movies.
Sometimes we can learn how we Japanese look like in terms of foreing people
in movies. Some Japanese may say "That's not Japanese and misconception."
But I believe that how we look like is our real figure even though we don't

Quize Show

Prime Minister Koizumi got a landslide victory
at last election by usigh power of mass media.
He knows very well how importance to tell
his message through mass media, especially television.

I rarelly watch the television except news program
, because I'm afraid its influence. I used to watch many programs
very often, that makes me so powerless. I mean, in Japan, most of
TV programs just tells us there are not so many fun things if you don't
have enough money. Believe it or not, most of Japanese are not so rich
or will be poor in near future. I expect that Japan is getting worse
day by day. To wacth TV is very good way to distract this kind of
sick feeling. That's why many people watch it and some people
use as very good tool to controll people's opinion.
To know the truth, I have to go abroad and realize Japan is crazy country.

Though "Quize Show" is an American movie,
showbizz world is always scandalous all over the world.

Generally, Sylvester Stallone's representative movie
is Rocky series. But, as for me, this is his best movie.

I've wathced this so many times, so now that I don't know
which part I really like.
I can be sure that not so many people would be

The main theme may be father and son's relationship, but
I could be satisfied with arm wrestling's scene.

These days, some of my friends have experienced
pregnancy. I'm not so interested in marriage, but
I'd like to have experience which gives births to my
own new life...

Biologically, mens don't have any kind of maternal instinct,
which means they don't care who the father is.
Of course, it's difficult for us to keep public order if mens follow this biological theory,
so tons of laws and rules define what mens have to do if they become "father".

Unfortunatelly, even though we have some ideal image as father, some of mens
reveal themselves when they get to know the girl friend are pregnant.
This movie's Hugh Grant play such a guy.
As for women, he is so cute. As for men, they can't laugh if this story would happen in real.

Even though when I don't feel uncomfortable...
I've never lived another country, so I don't think
I have different point of view.

But I do know, all I need to do is to get such a
point of view, because whether we want or we don't want,
we need to get along with anybody in all over the world.
Japan is really internal counry, we are not open-minded.
Some people accused us of this kind of behovior,
even though it's inevitable for us...

"The Matrix" gives us different point of view.
We can't go out anywhere only wathcing this.

This is one of my favorite Luc Besson's film.
Incidentally I don' t like with 'Jean of Arc'...
It was boring.

I've never been fallen loved with older man like Matilda.
If I was in unusual situation like her, I would be, maybe.
Generally speaking, women's taste for mens are affected
by which kind of father they have.
Some women chose man who is completely different from
their father, others chose man who is similar to their father.
In any case, we can't deny father's affection on sense of value.

Speaking of Matilda, she choose man who is completely different
from her father. Leon was embarassed with her at first, but we find
he is really bload-minded person shortly after they live together.

The story is kind of tragedy that I don't think this movie gives you
energy.
Still I recommend you to watch whey you have enought room
in your mind.

Kramer vs. Kramer

When I was teenager, I sometimes think that all women
are suffering loss in any point compareing to men.
That's why, I could enjoy watching this movie as
unusual man's situation.

Now I don't think all women are suffering a loss at least in
Japan. It's safe to say that men are suffering for invisible unsecure feeling.
What we used to believe is no longer available.
Men are regarded to be person who should create kind of stability life,
but it's getting to be difficult for anyone to achieve that.
Women have more options. One is to find some proper person and
create kind of stability if they can. But they also can to create their
own life without anyone as their second choice.
People are very tolerant for such women.

Unfortunatelly, last year's trend word , 'loser' , which means over
thirty single women, defined women who took another option.
Some people still think that single women are lack of something
compareing to married women.
But it also means that now we can make jokes about single woman.
I think this word represents that single women are accepted in the society.
There is no words for single men because not so many mens think
about their life's option.

I haven't seen this movie since I was teen ager.
Maybe I will have different feeling if I watch now.

This movie is one of my favorite his movie.

As I heard about him he ignored the academy award's
reception by playing clarinet.
He and his movies are really charming and unique.
I don't know why, but he and beautiful woman really mathces.
I'm afraid to tell this, but I don't think he is "handsome" type.
But he is always popular among girls and he can easily get
beautiful girlfriend not only in movies but alson in private life.
It's the same thing for Mike Myers.

Of course he is so attractive and talented that
many women become like him
But I still wonder why he and beautiful women 's
image is so perfect.

In Japan, most of people can't recognize the
title of "Indiana Jones", becauser this series
are introduced as "Indi Jones" in Japan.
Small difference like this case doesn't make
problem. We can guess original title.
But sometimes Japanese distributing agency
gives strange title which is totally different
from original title as promotion strategy in Japan.

Apart from difference between original title and
Japanese ones, I guarantee that you can enjoy
this series. I especiall like "Indiana Jones And
The Temple of Doom", because I used to be a big
fan of this movie's Chinese guy...

Jerry Maguire

This is the one of the best Tom Cruise movie.
He is always "too much" in movies,
for example, MI2 is not spy movie that' s
Tom Cruise's movie, so all we remember
after watching MI2 is just his face.....
But about this movie, he is not "too much",
his acting is very well and most of viewers
feel sympaty with Jerry Maguire.
Plus, actors who play supporting parts give
us very good impression.

I wonder why Tom Cruise always misses the academy
award. I guess one of that reason is the fact he's too
much handsome and powerful guy in the show biz.

Movie is the proper tool to learn history.
Above all, this movie, "Gandhi", is the best
example for this fact.

I don't know much about "Gandhi".
So I can't say anythign about the interpretaion
about him in this movie.
Some people may prefer that he would be
descriced as "God" human not as just human in
this moive.
But I like how to describe Gandhi in this movie.
Gandhi is great and respectalbe person,
but he is still human.
If we find some contradiction or mysterious thing
about him ,it's normal thing.
We can't know a certain person so perfectly.
It's valuable for us to get to know that
how he was like.

I was touched by his hunger strike.
I can't do this even for my self.
He did it for the peace.
He prove that we can get the peace
without vilorence.
But now that I'm not sure.
How woud he say about these days
if he was still alive??

I don't have to tell any detail of this
movie.
This is the very "movie".
I admire this movie not only the
warm story , but also the point
that this movie is very good at
making use of techniques.
You can feel 60's atomosphere
throught the realistic image.
Of course it's not realy, actually.
We can feel what happens in the movie
really happened - this is movie's miracle
for me.

Below is one of my favorite scripts.
"What's my destiny, Momma?"
"You're gonna have to figure that out for yourself.
Life is a box of chocolate, Forrest.
You never know what you're gonna get".

I can't stop crying the next scene.
"(To Jenny's grave) I don't know if Momma was right
or if it's Lt.Dan.I don't know if we each have a destiny
or if we're all just floating around accidenatl, like ona breeze.
But I think maybe it's both.
Mayve both is happening at the same time".

I think to be "the worst one" is as difficult as to be
"the best one".
That's why most of people end up with their life as
"ordinary".
Ed Wood is famous as "the worst movie director
in the history".
You can get to know how worst he was, once you wacth this movie.
I've never watched Ed Wood's movie, but I 've been interested since
I wathed this movie.

Johnny Depp's act is amazing in this movie.
By the way, he is really popular in Japan.
I also recommend "Donnie Brasco", "Blow", "Pirates of Caribbean"
and "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" as his representative movies.

Beauty - that's eternal theme for women
all over the world. I think it's a little
difficult for men to understand how
enthusiautic woman can be just for beauty.

Personaly, I don't believe that "anti-aging" thing,
because aging is one of the important biological theory,
so we can pretend to be young, but we can not regist aging in real meaning.
In this movie, women can get eternal beauty. Even though this is totally
fiction right now, we can simply enjoy wathing womens' enthusiasm for beauty.

To get many these awards doesn't always mean its
year's best movie, but about this movie,
I think the best movie of its year.

I recommend this movie for someone who love musical.
This movie is originally from famous broadway musical.

That's why song and dance is one of the most
important character.
My favorite song "Roxy", you can sing this at karaoke.
I felt that I 'm so happy to be born in Japan when I

When I was junior high school students, I was crazy about this movie.
I've watched at least 20 times per a series.
I watched this after school and after dinner and before sleep.
So, my mother was worried about that I became "real" crazy person.
Now that I don't know what brougt me such a enthusiasm,
but I still recommend anyone this.
It's the very American entertainment. There is no other word for it.
I especially recommend prospective kids and their parents.

(My fovirite is Back To The Future 2 but it's the best way to watch in order)

This is a very good movie as an introduction
of Mozart.
If you like classic music, you must like this for the
very very beautiful music.
Even though if you don't, you would probably enjoy
this movie. Because this movie's main theme is not
music, it's human's "jealousy" feeling.
The main character, Antonio Salieri struggles for
this feeling.We usually look up to "genious" person like Mozart.
But in this movie, Mozart is not described such a
respectable person. He seems to be stupid except
that talent of music.... So Salieri doesn't undestand
why God gave Mozart a chance to be genius , not him.
I've heard that as a matter of fact, Salieri was not so
misery person like this movie. But sometimes,
"Fiction is stranger than Truth."

Ryu Murakami is popular Japanese writer.
This book is a story of his high school days. The title means '1969,
the year when he was 17 years old, although it's very cathy.
These days I'm repeateadly reading this book. As he says in his book,
this book is really fun. But as for me this means more than just fun.
First of all this book is wrote with Kyusyu dialect, so that reminds me
of me hometown (I'm not sure how is it in English version....).
Second of all, my high school days is the most highligten days for me
in my life, so, I really enjoy reading vivid and living high school students' story.
Last but not least, he tells the very important thing for readers.
He says "teachers or polices are people who changes kids from
people to domestic animal through categorizing.
I'll never forget people who tried to taking very important thing from me.
I still fight against such a people in order to make them listen to my laught voice!"
I'm really impressed this description. We know that we should live with fun and it's
a very crime to live through boring life, but how many people succeed to live with fun?
Mr. Murakami is rare person who fight against boring life. If you want to know about
such person's young days, this book is just right for you!!
