To deceive viewers is an important part of movie.
That's why I don' t like spoilers.

I was totally deceived !! After I watch this kind
of movie, I always feel I'm so lucky to watch
the movie all the way through.

You can enjoy 'being deceived' by this movie.
I think not so many people could guess this trick.

Old Boy

These days, I like to watch violence movies.I don't know that reason, but once I used tolike to watch gangster movies for a while.Maybe these is no reason for that.
This movie won the prize for best film in the International Film Festival in Cannne.Actually I didn't know this fact before.I should check Canne's best film for each year once I knew this great film won the prize....
Director,actors, and pictures or techniques don't make great movie.
That is a script.Maybe all Hollywood film makers always look for good script.This movie is origially based on the Japanese famous comic.(Even though it's said that 'famous',it means famous for comic fans, not for every one.So unfortunatelly, I didn't know this comic..)The story attracts people all the time, becaus ethe theme, 'the feeling of revenge' is the thing we always have by nature.I totally sympathize with the main character( OH Dae-su).

Natural Born Killers

Natural Born Killers(1994)

This movie remids me of the importance of
thinking about violence. As long as I remember,
I have never resorted to violence. Not only because
violence is not the best way to do something but also
I don't have enough ability to resort to violence.

Even though I'm not violent person, I really enjoyed this movie.
To a greater or lesser extent, violence attracts people.
Maybe bacause violence sometimes can be a symbol of
strength and it's difficult to find a borderline between
to be strong and to be violent.

As the director told us at the interview, this movie doesn't
encourage viewers to be violent. He wants us to think about
violence around us.

What's up Doc?

What's up Doc?(1972)
Directed by Peter Bogdanovich

As I became a fan of Peter Bogdanovich & Ryan O'Neal
in 'Paper Moon', I watched this.
If you expect this as same quality as 'Paper Moon',
I don't recommend this to you.
Because this movie is a just slapstick comedy,
on the other hand 'Paper Moon' describes spiritual exchange
of leading characters.

As for me this movie was not only fun, but also meaningful
because it was first time for me to see Barbra Streisand's video picture.
There are some famous people who I do know them
by name, but have never seen them.
She was that kind of actress for me.
Actually I didn't pay attention to the credit at first,
I noticed the main character was her after watching this.
She has nice figure and beautiful voice.
I guess she is sociable with everybody in private,too.
It is no wonder that she became popular and famous.

M*A*S*H

M*A*S*H

MASH stands for 'Mobile Army Srugical Hospital'.

This movie reminded me of 'ER'.
The difference is the doctors in this movie have to
suffer from horror of war and play a practical joke
on the clleagues.
I'm really sorry for 'HotLips'.

I learned a very important thing from this movie.
That's the fact that we can't forget to laugh, even in the face of the horror of war.
Maybe we can't be alive without laugh.

If you laugh at something, today could be good for you.

When We Were Kings

When We Were Kings(1996)

This is a documentary film which describe
the big match between Muhammad Ali and
Champion, George Foreman.

Ali says, 'I want to have this match for my
brothers. They don't have any hope for
tomorrow, and any chance to get education
to get out of their present life. I want to cheer them up
as a brother.'

Some brothers believe that Ali is an incarnation of God.
I'm not sure about that, but I think it's possible.
It's safe to say that he is a selected man from God.

Paper Moon

Paper Moon(1973)
Directed by Peter Bogdanovich

This movie's highlight is Ryan & Tatum O'Neals' performance.
I'm so impressed by that, especially Tatum O'Neal's.
Once you see her in the movie, you know she's smart.
(Maybe smarter than his father , I'm not sure...)
Story is simple and classic.

A man by chance becomes acquainted with a girl, whose mother is
his friend and dead.They make a trip doing fraudulent business
together after an unexpected turn of events.

They do some kind of business in this movie, I believe
some bad people must have tried some of them in somewhere.
One of my favorite is to sell the bible to a dead person's
family. For the brave readers, I'll introduce this sales below.

(1)You check obituary column in the paper.
Survivor of the defunct is necessary.
You check the name of the most important person
for the dead person.
(2) You prepare one bible and stamp the name of which
you've already checked at the step one.
(3) You visit their house and sell the bible at a price.
*If they seem to be poor, don't take money from them,
give the bible to them.

Fight Club

Fight Club

A suprising ending was one of presents for
movie fans. That's why they don't like spoilers.

There are some types of suprising ending.
For example,everything was a just dream,
the main character has a Jekyll and Hide personality,
the main character dies in an accident and so on.

'Fight Club' s ending makes you suprise as well. You may guess
the 'suprise' by any chance.Even though, you know the ending
in middle of this movie, I assure you can enjoy this until the
end of it. Because this movie's theme is not only to make people suprise.
but also to express the danger of one person's strong wish in the modern
society.

The Whales Of August

The whales of August(1987)
Directed by Lindsay Anderson

Two old sisters' very beautiful story.
Even though they live alone, they never
forget their every day, and they don't complain
their life.
Not so suprising things happen to them,
but their every day is really existing there.

I'm only child, so I don't think I could do the
same thing as them, but at least thought
I need to find ths closest frinds to live peacefully
for my old age.

The Last Emperor

The Last Emperor(1987)
Directed by Bernardo Bertolucci

Pu Yi is the last emperor of China.
When he was three years old,
he became the last emperor of China.
Since then no one can rebel against him in
the Forbidden City, until the army forced
him to leave there.
Because of him Emperor's blood, he couln't have any kind of
freedom.It is safe to say that he was a sport of fortune.

I don't think this movie is totally based on the truth of his life,
but at least I know how was it as a whole.
I have to say as a Japanese, some parts of this movie introduces
biased interpretation, maybe because this couldn't be made
without Chinese help.
As long as you know this, I can recommend this to you as a
very good text of the last emperor.
